RCMP release:

 Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a fatal structure fire in Chester Grant.

On January 20 at approximately 6:25 a.m., RCMP officers, fire and EHS responded to a report of an active fire at a property on Balsam Dr. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders found a camper trailer fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished, the remains of an adult were located at the scene.

Investigators from the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal and Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service attended the property. At this time, based on information and evidence gathered, criminality is not believed to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing with partner agencies.
