Traffic stop on Forest Hills Parkway leads to arrest in 2 Dartmouth theft cases

RCMP release:

A routine traffic stop by the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has resulted in the arrest of a man wanted in connection with two shoplifting investigations in Dartmouth.

On February 3, at approximately 8:45 p.m., an RCMP officer on proactive patrol queried the licence plate of a Dodge Ram travelling in the 0–100 block of Forest Hills Parkway. The check revealed that the vehicle’s registered owner was a suspended driver.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as a 38‑year‑old woman from Grand Lake. She was issued summary offence tickets for two Motor Vehicle Act violations. A male passenger was also identified, and police learned he was wanted for arrest in relation to two separate theft investigations being conducted by Halifax Regional Police.

The passenger, a 37‑year‑old man from Lake Loon, was arrested without incident and transported to the Halifax Regional Police Prisoner Care Facility. He was released with a scheduled appearance in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
