Man arrested for impaired driving after getting stuck in snowbank at Halifax Police HQ

HRP release:

On February 7 at approximately 3 a.m., officers at police headquarters, located at 1975 Gottingen Street in Halifax, observed a vehicle drive up to a gate at the rear of the building and attempt to park before becoming stuck in a snowbank. When officers approached the vehicle to assist, they quickly noted signs that the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and walked into the station without incident.

A 31-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face the following charges:

  • Operation of a conveyance while impaired to any degree by alcohol or drugs or combination of both
  • Operation of a conveyance while impaired by alcohol over 80mg.

Officers also arrested three other drivers for impaired driving during that overnight shift.
