Police respond to suspicious package outside KFC restaurant

Files from HRP release:

Halifax police responded to a suspicious package outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Sunday afternoon, closing the business for nearly two hours before investigators determined it was not a real threat.

Officers were called to 18 Titus Street at around 4:30 p.m. on February 22. Multiple units responded, including the Explosive Disposal Unit, which cordoned off the area while the investigation got underway.

Just before 6:15 p.m., EDU members confirmed the package was a hoax device. The restaurant was allowed to reopen shortly after.
