RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a vehicle-bicycle collision in Eastern Passage.

Somewhere in the middle — and that's okay.
On August 5, at approximately 7:50 p.m., RCMP officers, EHS, and fire services responded to a collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of Oceanlea Dr. and Shore Rd.
Upon arrival, officers located a Honda CR-V and a bicycle that had been modified to be gas-powered.
Officers learned that the Honda CR-V was travelling westbound on Shore Rd. and the cyclist was travelling southbound on Oceanlea Dr. when the collision occurred in the intersection.
The driver of the CR-V, a 47-year-old man from Cole Harbour and four passengers were not injured. The cyclist, a youth from Eastern Passage, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.

Road users are reminded safety is a shared responsibility. Cyclists should obey all traffic laws, remain alert at intersections, use appropriate safety equipment and ensure their bicycles are visible, especially during low-light conditions. Motorists are encouraged to watch carefully for cyclists, check blind spots, and provide sufficient space when passing. By staying attentive and respectful of one another, everyone can help make the roads safe for all users.
