Police charge two women, seek man following robbery, kidnapping and vehicle theft

Digby RCMP has charged two women and is seeking the public’s help to locate a man wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant in connection with an armed robbery, kidnapping, and vehicle theft in Weymouth.

On August 17, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Digby RCMP received a report of a robbery involving a firearm that had occurred the previous night.

The victim, a 24-year-old man from Digby, was in a vehicle with two women parked in the 7100 block of Hwy. 101 in Plympton when an unknown man approached and forced him into the passenger seat at gunpoint. The three suspects then drove the victim to an ATM, where he was forced to withdraw cash, before dropping him off at another location and fleeing in his Mercedes-Benz CLA250. The vehicle has since been recovered and seized by RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Ronda Lynne Anne McCullough, 27, of Yarmouth, and Casey Anne Fitzgerald, 32, of Weymouth, have each been charged with:

  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death
  • Extortion without Firearm
  • Robbery
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Kidnapping
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Firearm when Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000


McCollough is also charged with Assault with a Weapon, while Fitzgerald is charged with Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order.

Both appeared in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court August 19 and remain in custody pending future court dates.

Digby RCMP is seeking information on the whereabouts of Shaun Alan Thibodeau, 37, of Weymouth, who’s wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant in relation to the incident. He’s facing charges of Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Extortion, Robbery, Kidnapping, Motor Vehicle Theft, Theft under $5,000, Mischief under $5,000, multiple firearms and weapons offences, and Failing to Comply with a Release Order.

Thibodeau is described as 5-foot-8, 170 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
