RCMP release:
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a man for impaired driving following a traffic stop.
On September 12, at approximately 10:15 p.m., an officer observed an eastbound Dodge Nitro drifting from side to side within its lane in the 15000 block of Hwy. 7. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle.

The officer spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment. A roadside breath sample was obtained, which resulted in a fail.
The 45-year-old Halifax man was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the Sheet Harbour RCMP Detachment, where he provided two breath samples that registered 150 mg% and 140 mg%.
He was released and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
Impaired driving is a leading factor in serious collisions and remains a significant threat to public safety. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs and to always choose a safe way home.
