RCMP release:
Cumberland County District RCMP has arrested a woman for impaired driving after receiving a 911 call about a vehicle travelling the wrong way on a highway.
On September 18, at approximately 12:30 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a vehicle travelling westbound on Hwy. 104 in the eastbound lanes near Salt Springs.
An officer located the vehicle on Hwy. 104 in Upper Nappan and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle, a Mazda CX-5, pulled over onto the median. The officer spoke with the driver, who was showing signs of impairment.
The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Hodson, Pictou County, was arrested for impaired driving. She was transported to the Amherst RCMP Detachment, where she provided breath samples that registered 200 mg% and 190 mg%.
The woman was later released and is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court.
