A 33-year-old woman is being held for court after Halifax Regional Police say a hit and run on Sunday night turned into a chase that ended with her car crashing into a police vehicle at the Armdale Roundabout.
She faces four charges: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop after an accident, flight from police and breach of conditions. The charges haven’t been tested in court, and police say more may be laid.
Police say it started at 7:35 p.m. with a hit and run on Dentith Road. Officers found the grey sedan on Herring Cove Road, but it sped off and they called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

Somewhere in the middle — and that's okay.
At 8:20 p.m., officers spotted the car on Purcells Cove Road and put down a spike belt. Police allege the sedan ran over it, kept going toward the roundabout and hit a police vehicle near Quinpool Road. Officers used a conducted energy weapon to make the arrest.
The crash closed Quinpool Road and the roundabout in both directions until about 11:05 p.m. Police didn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
