Two People Charged in Break and Enters

  Two additional people face charges in connection with break and enters in the north end of Halifax as a result of two searches by the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS).

in the north end of Halifax as a result of two searches by the HRP/RCMP
Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS).
 
Over the last three weeks, there has been ten break and enters into
homes in Halifax in the area bounded by Barrington Street, Duffus Street
and Memorial Drive. A 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged in
connection with one of those incidents.
 
Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m., investigators from GIS, assisted
by officers from the HRP/RCMP Drug Unit, Central Quick Response Unit and
Central Patrol, conducted two searches in connection with these
incidents. The searches took place on Barrington Street and Jarvis Lane
and resulted in the recovery of some stolen items from both locations as
well as the seizure of crack cocaine from the Jarvis Lane address.
 
A 17-year-old male youth faces charges of break and enter and
possession of stolen property. He was scheduled to appear in Halifax
Youth Court today. A 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax
Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of break and enter,
possession of stolen property and drug possession for the purpose of
trafficking. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests/charges
are possible.
