crazy sexy life + prevention + ayurveda

My deep down passion has always been health and beauty so when the opportunity to take several workshops on Ayurveda I signed up right away. Ayurveda is considered to be the oldest holistic healing science, has a comprehensive and scientific approach to health but I admit going into the first 8 hour workshop I wasn’t exactly clear on what Ayurveda was. I came away with a very good understanding of  how it treats mind, body and spirit as one, and strives to balance the essential elements that exist in all of us to attain our natural state of pure health. This is through a variety of cleansing and rejuvenating treatments and practices that can include diet, exercise, meditation, massage and yoga.  Something that anyone and everyone can benefit from! I’m always trying to immerse myself in wellness and someone I’ve always looked towards for inspiration is Kris Carr who’s just celebrated her 10 year anniversary of THRIVING with cancer. I’ve been reading and watching this gal for years…I was intrigued at just age 20 when I first saw her documentary Crazy Sexy Cancer and since then she’s been leading a wellness revolution that is inspiring folks all over the world to take charge of our own health, be our own MD’s and realize the cure to it all is….prevention. Her knowledge of plant based diets is incredible and is fed through a glowing, shiny, happy spirit that’s such a joy to watch. You can learn more about Kris’s approach to diet and life at http://crazysexylife.com/ I came across Kris’s chat at the Wanderlust Festival several weeks back, late at night (as evidenced by my random late night tweets on wellness) and thought I’d share it here for you all.  It’s about 45 minutes long and a great way to get inspired for the weekend. She does a helpful Q&A at the end as well. Enjoy! ...
