At approximately 6:20 P.M. Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a dispute call on Brompton Rd in Dartmouth. A female resident of the area had called police due to another resident almost hitting her with their vehicle. As officers were arriving in the area they were approached by a woman who was involved in the dispute. They stopped their vehicle in the area of Everette St. and Bonnie Brae Trailer Park and were speaking with this woman. As they were having this conversation a van had appeared on Everette St from Brompton Rd. The van sped up and swerved towards the police vehicle, striking the police vehicle and subsequently striking the woman who was talking to police. Officers were able to exit their vehicle and take the driver of the van, a 32 year old woman, in to custody. The woman who was struck by the vehicle, a 46 year old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. At this time officers are still on scene and the investigation is continuing.
