Police are investigating an assault that occurred on May 28 in Shubie Park in Dartmouth.
 
At 6:52 p.m., police responded to an assault at the off-leash dog park area of Shubie Park, which is located just off Locks Road. A 30-year-old man was attempting to break up a fight between his dog and another dog when the owner of the other dog intervened and punched him in the face. The suspect then fled the area on a mountain bike. The victim was not injured.
 
The suspect is described a white man, in his forties, 6’3”, bald, with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt with a motocross design and was riding a dark-coloured mountain bike with Atlantic Superstore baskets strapped to the rear. The man was accompanied by an American pit bull.
 
Police would like to remind park users to call 3-1-1 to report an aggressive dog and to call police to report aggressive dog owners.
