1. On Saturday Ross Farm will be holding a scything school for those interested in learning how to hand scythe, along with a haying demonstration. On Sunday the Hand Mowing Championship will be held, along with other competitions like the hay on the folk lift.

 Take a wagon ride, and visit heritage buildings such as Rose Bank Cottage, the home of Captain Ross’s family, dating from 1817!

2. Shakespeare by the Sea is back for another fantastic season and a great line up of performances – including Snow White! Performances on Saturday and Sunday!

3. It’s the 12th annual open house for Hope for Wildlife on Sunday. Join in the fun and help wildlife in NS! There will be wildlife displays and demos, BBQ, music, games and much more! Fun for the whole family!

4. Switch: Open Street Sundays encourages people to enjoy the city in a new way by walking, biking and moving around safely and comfortably on a 2km route. This Sunday Switch is coming to Dartmouth. From Portland and Alderney to Banook Lake there will be open streets. Lots of music, kids fun, bike rentals and others activities will make this a great family friendly event for Downtown Dartmouth!

5. Assante Hydrostone is inviting the public to join them for the second annual Music in the Park concert at the Hydrostone Park, on Saturday August 24th from 12:30 – 6pm. Music in the Park is a free public concert created to celebrate one of Halifax’s most historic and unique neighborhoods, the Hydrostone. The concert will feature live performances by Dana Beeler, Breagh MacKinnon, Dave Sampson, Molly Thomason and Seven MacDougall.
