RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in Ecum Secum.

At 4:11 p.m. on September 5th, RCMP and emergency personnel were called to 30330 on Highway 7.

A lone vehicle had left the roadway and struck a power pole. When police arrived they found a car on its passenger side, facing eastbound. The 74-year-old female driver was still in the vehicle but not responsive. There were no visible trauma injuries and she was pronounced deceased. Visibility was clear and the roadway was dry.

RCMP continue to investigate and a mechanical inspection of the car will be completed.
