Yarmouth Town RCMP are currently investigating the suspicious death of a 76-year-old man.

At approximately 2 p.m. yesterday, Yarmouth Town RCMP conducted a well-being check at a residence on Grove Road.

Upon entering the home, RCMP found the deceased body of Stanley Ernest Adams from Yarmouth. The Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit is assisting with the investigation.

Timothy Stanley Adams, age 43, was arrested without incident and has been charged with the following offences: one count of Neglecting to Perform duties with reference to Burial and one count of Offering Indignities to Human Remains. He will appear in Provincial court this afternoon in Yarmouth.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the residence or had contact with the deceased. The investigation is continuing.
