On the evening of Saturday June 14th at approximately 9:30 p.m., Ingonish Beach RCMP conducted a vehicle stop for a motor vehicle act violation along the Bay St.

Lawrence Road in Northern Cape Breton. Approximately 27 grams of marijuana was subsequently discovered in the vehicle.

The 24-year-old male driver was arrested and is facing a charge under the CDSA for Possession of marijuana. A 27-year-old male passenger was also arrested and facing and charged with Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. Both men were released from police custody and will be appearing in Ingonish Provincial Court on September 11, 2014. Both men are from the Northern Cape Breton area.
