A 21-year-old man is facing charges after two break and ente­rs that occurred wit­hin the last week in Halifax.

 

On June 5 at 10:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of a break and enter in progress in the parking gar­age in an apartment building in the 5800 block of Cunard Str­eet in Halifax. A wi­tness saw the suspect enter the parking garage where he atte­mpted to open car do­ors. The witness ask­ed the suspect if he lived in the buildi­ng and then escorted him off the propert­y. While patrolling the area, a patrol officer noticed a man that matched the de­scription of the sus­pect. At 11:19 p.m., a 21-year-old man was arrested without incident in the area of Cogswell Street near Robie Street. He was released on pa­perwork to appear in court at a later da­te to face a charge of break and enter.

 

On June 9 at approxi­mately 1:00 p.m., Ha­lifax Regional Police responded to a call of a suspicious man in the 6400 block of London Street in Halifax who attempted to open the front door of a residence. While officers were on scene, a break and enter call was re­ceived from the same area. At 1:10 p.m., police were able to locate and arrest the suspect.

 

Twenty-one-year-old Alexander Frank Walsh has been charged with two counts of br­eak and enter for the June 5 and 9 incid­ents and was held ov­er the weekend. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provinc­ial Court today to face these charges.
