A 21-year-old man is facing charges after two break and enters that occurred within the last week in Halifax.
On June 5 at 10:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of a break and enter in progress in the parking garage in an apartment building in the 5800 block of Cunard Street in Halifax. A witness saw the suspect enter the parking garage where he attempted to open car doors. The witness asked the suspect if he lived in the building and then escorted him off the property. While patrolling the area, a patrol officer noticed a man that matched the description of the suspect. At 11:19 p.m., a 21-year-old man was arrested without incident in the area of Cogswell Street near Robie Street. He was released on paperwork to appear in court at a later date to face a charge of break and enter.
On June 9 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of a suspicious man in the 6400 block of London Street in Halifax who attempted to open the front door of a residence. While officers were on scene, a break and enter call was received from the same area. At 1:10 p.m., police were able to locate and arrest the suspect.
Twenty-one-year-old Alexander Frank Walsh has been charged with two counts of break and enter for the June 5 and 9 incidents and was held over the weekend. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face these charges.
