A man and a woman face drug charges

A man and a woman face drug charges after a traffic stop yesterday in Dartmouth.
Shortly after 7 p.m., following an ongoing investigation, investigators assigned to the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Russell Lake Drive. The sole male driver was arrested at the scene.
 
A subsequent search of a residence in the 0-100 block of Royalvue Court resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cash and a quantity of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A woman was also arrested at the scene without incident.
 
Thirty-six-year-old Nicholas James Swinimer and 27-year-old Aleisha Dawn Stright each face two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They were held in custody overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
