Around 5:15 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a break and enter that had just occurred in the 0-100 block of School Street in Dartmouth. After viewing video surveillance from the property owner, police were able to locate the suspects a short distance away. While officers were investigating the first break and enter, two other calls were received from the 0-100 block of Slayter Street, one a break and the other a theft. Property from all three incidents was recovered.
As a result of all three incidents, 19-year-old Jesse Ashford has been charged with three counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of recognizance, and one count each of theft and breach of probation. A 16-year-old male youth was also charged with two counts of break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property, and one count each of theft and breach of undertaking.
