A man face weapon-related charges as a result of a traffic stop last Tuesday night in Sambro.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on August 16, members of the West Quick Response Unit, with the assistance of patrol officers and members of the Emergency Response Team, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Ketch Harbour Road. Officers searched the vehicle and seized a handgun and a quantity of ammunition. The male driver of the vehicle was arrested without incident. Officers then conducted a search at a residence on Ketch Harbour Road and seized a handgun, six long guns and a quantity of ammunition.

 

A 40-year-old man was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date to face numerous weapons-related charges.
