A message from Kelly Regan on Lyme disease

A message from Kelly Regan, MLA for Bedford-Birch Cove:

Dear Friends,

I will be hosting a Public Meeting on Lyme disease on Wednesday, November 24th from 7:00-8:30pm. The meeting will take place at the Bedford Legion (1772 Bedford Highway).

This is an information session and discussion about the symptoms and diagnosis process of Lyme disease, how Lyme disease is spread and the lifecycle of the black-legged tick, and recent initiatives that are being taken to control the tick population in Bedford.

Participants include:

– Local residents who have been diagnosed with Lyme disease, who will discuss their experiences with Lyme disease

– Retired NS Department of Natural Resources Entomologist Eric Georgeson, who will speak about the black-legged tick

– Councillor Tim Outhit who will speak about deer-baiting stations installed in Admiral’s Cove Park

If you have any questions, please contact my office at 407-3777 or email me at kelly@kellyregan.ca.

I hope you can join us on November 24th.

Kelly
