From RCMP:
Saturday, October 9th, 2010  Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S. …. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Halifax District responded to a two vehicle injury accident on Prospect Road at 1171 Prospect Road at 13:25 hours and a second multi vehicle accident at 1455 hours, in front of the Goodwood Driving Range.

HRM Fire and EHS also attended both scenes. Traffic was reduced to one lane on Prospect Road after the first accident.  The second accident occurred when traffic flow had been slowed/stopped due to the first accident. A large water truck rear ended the back of a pickup truck, stopped in traffic and pushed it into other vehicles, in front of it. Two adult females were treated and transported by EHS from the first accident, with what is believed to be minor injuries. When the second accident occurred, the occupants of the pick up truck ( a grandmother and six year old grand child) were very fortunate to escape serious injury. Their pick up truck suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene as well as the water truck that had struck it and two other vehicles. HRP may have responded to a third accident on Prospect Road in the 800 block at approximately 1455 hours. As of 1540 hours members were still on Prospect Road at the second accident scene. They were hoping to have the roadway open to two way traffic in the next couple of minutes.

The investigation is continuing and no charges have been laid yet.
