African Heritage Month : Musical: Beneath Springhill: The Maurice Ruddick Story

Playwright/actor Beau Dixon performs his musical chronicle of the life of Maurice Ruddick, an African Canadian who survived the historic Springhill mining disaster in 1958 and was awarded “Citizen of the Year” for saving the lives of his fellow workers. An educational story filled with tragedy, drama, and comedy, Beneath Springhill: The Maurice Ruddick Story also shares conflicting moments of hope and bravery. (35 mins.)
