Wednesday, November 6, 2013 – HRM residents are advised that the Alderney Ferry Terminal Plaza will be completely closed to the public for approximately two to three weeks as part of the upgrades to the plaza.
During this time all doors from the ferry terminal will remain open, however pedestrian traffic to and from the building to Portland street will be through Alderney Landing only. Residents can access the Ferry Terminal Park and the new playground through the door directly adjacent to the Tim Hortons located in the terminal and along the boardwalk.
Upgrades to the Alderney Ferry Terminal Plaza began on October 14. The scope of work includes the removal of the red brick pavers which will be replaced with timber decking and a concrete thoroughfare. The upgrades will also include additional lighting, benches, and new planting.
The full work is anticipated to be completed in late December.
