All Halifax Regional Centre for Education schools will be closed today (Tuesday, December 18).

HRCE Central Office will open at 10 am.

Today’s decision was based on the following information:

• Snow expected to accumulate through the morning commute time, up to 7 cm of accumulation.
• Road surfaces will present slippery conditions as the snow intensifies throughout the morning.
• Wind gusts are forecasted to reach near 70 km/h which may reduce visibility in some areas.
• Temperatures expected to drop quickly in the afternoon.
