Earlier today the Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU) announc­ed plans to initiate a one-day province-­wide walkout on Frid­ay, February 17.

As a result of this action by the NSTU, all schools will be closed to students on Friday.

The following progr­ams/services are also cancelled for Frid­ay:

• EXCEL Child Care
• Early Learning Oppo­rtunities
• Early Years Centres
• SchoolsPlus

Community use of sc­hool facilities will continue.
