Ami McKay Reads Tonight at the Spring Garden Road Public Library The Virgin Cure (M)
The much-anticipated follow-up to the The Birth House, The Virgin Cure secures Ami McKay’s place as one of our most beguiling storytellers. Inspired by Ami’s great-great-grandmother Dr. Sarah Fonda Mackintosh, a pioneer in women’s and children’s health care in nineteenth century New York, it is a tale of secrets and truths, of dark myths and magic of the heart. Ami’s debut novel won three CBA Libris Awards and was nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
