Beth Covey, a long-time staffer at Lefty’s Restaurant & Lounge in Upper Tantallon, is this week’s winner of the Bay Treasure Chest, an ongoing fundraising initiative benefitting service organizations in the St.
Margaret’s Bay area.
In its nine-week run, the Toonie-per-play 50/50 draw has produced just three winners: Timberlea denizen Debi Platt, $896; Haliburton Hills resident Andrea Christ, $1054; and Beth, whose Ed McMahon-sized cheque is good for $6,450.
With no winner since April 30 – lottery enthusiasts MUST play their lifetime-registered number the same week it’s drawn to lay claim to the proceeds – the pot had grown significantly over the course of the past six weeks.
The next draw will take place on Wednesday, June 19th.
