Annapolis District RCMP investigate Fatal Boating Accident, Parkers Cove, N.S.

Annapolis District RCMP are investigating a fatal boating accident that occurred Saturday evening in Parkers Cove, Bay of Fundy. On August 31st, shortly after 8 p.m., Annapolis County RCMP responded to a report of a missing boater at Parkers Cove.

On August 31st, shortly after 8 p.m., Annapolis County RCMP responded to a report of a missing boater at Parkers Cove.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Center ( JRCC ) was activated and a Coast Guard vessel was dispatched from St. John, New Brunswick. As well, the search was assisted by a local coast guard auxiliary and a private fishing vessel.

After several hours of searching, the boat and its operator were located. A 55-year-old male from the area was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification of next-of-kin. The RCMP and the Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing their investigation.
