Annapolis District RCMP investigate suspicious fire, Cornwallis, N.S.

Annapolis District RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred earlier today in Cornwallis. At approximately 6 a.m. this morning, RCMP, Bear River and Digby Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at the old Military Base in Cornwallis.

At approximately 6 a.m. this morning, RCMP, Bear River and Digby Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at the old Military Base in Cornwallis.

A vacant building, which once served as barracks for the base, sustained extensive damage.

The RCMP and the Fire Marshal’s Office are treating the fire as suspicious. The RCMP are also continuing their investigation into another suspicious fire which occurred on the Cornwallis Base back on September 30th, 2013. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Annapolis County RCMP at (902) 665-4481.
