If you ask me (and since you’re on my blog, I’m assuming you are) Anne Hathaway could not have looked better last night. The girl wore 8 different outfits! Some of them were absolutely stunning, but even the ones I didn’t love were better than what a lot of stars showed up in. Let’s take a look:
#1 – Walking the red carpet in Valentino
Of everything Anne wore last night, this is my least favorite. Red is definitely her color, but the bustles in the back and the gathering and the flowers were all too much for me. Grade: C-
#2 – Givenchy
This might be my favorite gown of the entire night. I just absolutely love the contrast of the soft, flowing skirt with the detailed bustier bodice. Stunning. Just absolutely stunning. Grade: A+
#3 – Lanvin Tuxedo
When Anne strutted into the stage in this outfit to do her musical number, the room I was in exploded with squeals. SQUEALS, I tell you, over those fabulous shoes. The shoes! Oh, the shoes. Amazing. Plus, Anne looks pretty hot in a tux. Grade: A
#3 – Vivienne Westwood
So wrong it’s right? This gown reminded me a little of the feather duster character in Beauty and the Beast, but I always liked her so hey, whatevs. There was something strange about this look, but I liked it nonetheless. Unfortunately, Anne lost points for the hair. Grade: B
#4 – Oscar de la Renta
I love love LOVE this dress. I want to own this dress so I can make the tassels shake just like Anne did. (Really, how adorable was that?) I love the retro glam, yet modern feel to this look and her hair perfectly matched the fun, sexy style. Grade: A+
#5 – Versace
Like I said, red is her color. I actually think this looked better on TV than it does in photos today, so if you missed the show last night you’ll have to take my word for it – she looked smokin’. Grade: A-
#6 – Armani
Another case of so wrong it’s right? I think so. Yeah, it looked a little 80s Prom Barbie. But I loved the structured style to the dress contrasted with the shiny electric blue material. January Jones should take note – this is how you do edgy and different. Grade: B
#7 – Tom Ford
Who knew someone could look so sexy while showing so little skin? While Anne’s final look certainly wasn’t my favorite of the night, I still thought it was an outstanding choice. The sleeves and high neck are so unexpected, and the sleek hair is just right. Grade: B
My overall grade for Anne’s Oscar fashions? A solid A. What did you think of her looks? What was your favorite? Least favorite?
