Argyle Street (Sackville to Blowers) – Street Closures

Thursday, July 30, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Argyle Street, between Sackville Street and Blowers Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic each Thursday to Sunday beginning today through mid-September, as follows:

Thursdays, 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Fridays, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Sundays, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.

These street closures are part of the Argyle Shared Street Pilot Project, which has temporarily transformed this block of Argyle Street with an alternative, pedestrian-oriented street design that provides space for community events and activation.

New pavement markings, on-street amenities and seating have been installed to test street configuration options that could be implemented in the permanent Argyle Street redesign planned to align with the completion of the Nova Centre development in 2017.
