RCMP release:
Kings District RCMP has charged one person with multiple offences after a home invasion in Morden.
On July 19 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Kings District RCMP received a report of a home invasion and robbery that had just occurred on Lower St. Two men entered a residence, assaulted a man inside, then took items from the residence and fled in a vehicle. The male victim suffered minor injuries. No weapons were reportedly used during this incident and another person inside the house at the time was not injured.
One suspect was identified as Keith Chamberlain, 52, of North Kentville. On July 20, Kentville Police Services located Chamberlain during a traffic stop on Belcher St. in Kentville, and he was arrested without incident.
Chamberlain has been charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault by choking
- Theft Under $5000
- Mischief
- Uttering threats
- Robbery
- Break and Enter with Intent
He appeared in Windsor Provincial Court on July 21 and was remanded into custody. At a subsequent court appearance on July 22, he was released by the courts on conditions pending future court appearances.
The second suspect related to this incident has not yet been arrested or charged, and Kings District RCMP continues to investigate.
The victim and suspects are believed to be known to each other.
