Police have charged two men in relation to a shooting that occurred Sunday morning in Dartmouth.
Yesterday at 5:27 a.m., police responded to a report that a woman had been shot in the area of Portland Street and Portland Hills Drive in Dartmouth. Officers located a 27-year-old woman who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Investigators have laid charges against two men who were arrested at the scene.
Spencer Sinclair Thompson, 37, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of:
- Attempted murder
- Assault with a weapon
- Aggravated assault
- Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Careless use of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon
- Carrying a concealed firearm
- Unsafe storage contrary to regulations x 2
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2
- Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized x 2
- Possession of a firearm contrary to firearm prohibition x 6
Durrell Samuel Diggs, 24, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Unsafe storage contrary to regulations x 2
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2
- Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized x 2
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition
- Possession contrary to firearm prohibition x 3
Three men, ages 25, 26 and 28, were arrested at the scene and will appear in court at a later date to face charges in relation to the incident.
