At approximately 11:40 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery in the 0-100 block of Maplehurst Dr in Dartmouth. A 40 year old man from Dartmouth had an arranged meeting with a female acquaintance. As he was exiting his vehicle, he was approached by a man wearing a bandana over his face. This man struck the victim in the head with a board and demanded money. After the victim gave him the money the man struck the victim, again with the board, before fleeing the area. Witnesses contacted HRP and provided a description of the suspect. Patrol members responding to the call, located a man that matched the description in the area of Newcastle St and Old Ferry Rd. Officers located evidence connecting him to the robbery, as a result a 21 year old man from Boutilier’s Point will appear in Dartmouth Provincial court on Wednesday January 4th charged with robbery and assault with a weapon. The victim was taken to hospital by EHS paramedics for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
