At approximately 1120 hrs Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery that had occurred at the Sobey’s store located at 279 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax. Two men had stolen items from the store and when confronted by store staff, one of the men produced a knife and threatened the staff member, enabling their escape. A witness to the incident contacted police and followed the men, who had fled the area in a vehicle. HRP located and stopped the vehicle on Hartlen Ave in Halifax where the two men were taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries sustained in this incident and the store property was recovered. A 23 year old man from Halifax will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday December 19th charged with robbery, theft and possession under $5000 and weapons offences. A 22 year old man from Bedford will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date charged with theft and possession.
