FROM HRPD:
Police have arrested a man in connection with November’s hit and run
on the MacDonald bridge where two officers were injured while performing
vehicle checks.

The two officers approached the vehicle just after 3 a.m. on November

Christmas.” The vehicle quickly accelerated, dragging one officer a
short distance and throwing the other onto the pavement. The vehicle
fled the scene.

The ensuing investigation was conducted by officers assigned to the
HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section and resulted in a
search on Friday night of a residence in the 100 block of Appian Way in
Dartmouth. Evidence related to this incident as well as a quantity of
cocaine, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was seized. A man was
arrested last night at 9:23 p.m. without incident at the Appian Way
location.

A 20-year-old Dartmouth man will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court
this afternoon to face charges of criminal negligence causing bodily
harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and
drug trafficking.
