Arrest Made in Theft of Copper

Three people face charges in connection with a theft of copper that
occurred Sunday night in Dartmouth.

On Monday at 10 a.m., officers responded to a theft of copper from a
business on Belmont Avenue that took place on Sunday night at 11 p.m.
Based on video surveillance and other information, patrol officers
attended a nearby residence where two men were arrested without
incident. A male youth was arrested a short while later at another
Dartmouth residence. Officers obtained a search warrant for the first
residence and seized the stolen copper as well as other items related to
the theft.

A 21-year-old man was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court
today to face charges of theft over $5000, possession of stolen property
over $5000, mischief and breach of conditions. A 22-year-old man and a
16-year-old male youth both face charges of theft over $5000, possession
of stolen property over $5000 and mischief, and are scheduled to appear
in court at a later date.
