This morning at approximately 4:30 AM HRP officers responded to an apartment building in the 0 – 100 Block of Ridgevalley Rd. in Halifax to assist the HRM Fire Service.
A reported minor fire had been extinguished prior to police arrival but it was determined upon examination to have been deliberately set. In addition, it was evident that a person had committed a significant amount of property damage to the entranceway of the building, smashing glass windows, furniture and a variety of office equipment. An HRP K9 officer was called in and successfully tracked to a suspect who was arrested without incident near 80 Ridgevalley Rd. The accused, a male – aged 19 from the Halifax area has been remanded into custody and will appear at Halifax Provincial Court in the morning to face Break & Enter, Arson and Property Damage charges.
