A new art project was unveiled this week at the Wellness Centre in the South Centre Mall. It’s called the “Fruits of Wellness.” It shows a basket of fruit. It’s made out of clay and glaze and many different people created pieces of the mosaic. Miro Davis is the artist behind the project. Miro has created numerous public art projects with Spryfield citizens. The Waterfall piece in the Captain William Spry Centre was her work, and so are the pieces hanging in the Supreme Court and Provincial court (both were created with students from our local schools). The Wellness Centre art project was created with funding from the Robert Pope Foundation. I saw pictures of the unveiling ceremony on Global News the other night. It’s quite a large project (hard to miss!) and I’ll try to take a picture of it the next time I swing by the Wellness Centre.
