An assist citizen call has resulted in drug charges against a Halifax man.
At 2:40 p.m. on February 10, Halifax Regional Police responded to an assist citizen call on Autumn Drive following a verbal disagreement between two men who are neighbours. As a result of officers’ interactions with one of the men, they observed what they believed was a marihuana grow operation inside his apartment and arrested a 59-year-old Halifax man at the scene. Members of the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division later executed a search warrant at the address. As a result of the search, officers seized a quantity of marihuana plants as well as drug paraphernalia.
The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 22 to face charges of cultivation of marihuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
