A message on behalf of IUOE Local 727 (NS Paramedics and Lifeflight Nurses) regarding #codecritical and ambulance offload delays at provincial hospitals

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPOKESPERSON / UNION REPRESENTING NOVA SCOTIAS PARAMEDICS and
LIFEFLIGHT NURSES.
The issue of long wait times caused by delays in patient transfer of care at Nova Scotia Emergency Departments that
has been recently highlighted by the Paramedics Unions Code Critical Campaign is, in the Unions opinion -Epidemic and Dangerous.
Delays by the McNeil Government to correct this systemic problem can only serve to fuel dangers to the public who
require emergency medical care.
The Paramedics Union reiterates it’s concerns as were also reported by Jason MacLean of the NSGEU in his
statement of support for correcting the issue where he noted the Paramedics Unions Code Critical Campaign and the
inherent dangers to employees and patients that need to be addressed sooner rather than later.
