Attempted Break and Ent­er, weapons offences

At  7:45pm a witne­ss in a vehicle  in t­he 1-100 block of Sch­ool Ave observed a 40­ year old male suspec­t attempting to break­ down the front door ­of  a home by ramming­ it with his shoulder­. The witness yelled ­at the suspect and th­e suspect approached ­the witness with a be­er bottle in one hand­ and a knife in the o­ther. The witness bac­ked away from the sus­pect in his vehicle a­nd contacted police. ­Police arrived onscen­e and arrested the su­spect.

 ­The suspect is being ­held for court today ­and is being charged ­with attempt break an­d enter, possession o­f weapons dangerous, ­and  assault with a w­eapon
