Attempted abduction of girl in Clayton Park

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a report of suspicious circumstances that occurred in Clayton Park yesterday.

Police received a report that at approximately 12:30 p.m. a man approached a girl who was on a walking path near Woodward Avenue and Clayton Park Drive. The man tried to get the girl to go to his vehicle with him and then grabbed her by the arm when she tried to walk away. The girl was able to flee the area and tell a trusted adult what had happened.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 30-40 years old, 5’10” with a dark complexion and stocky build. At the time he was wearing a long black coat with the hood up over his head, large black sunglasses, a black non-medical mask, black sweat pants and black sneakers.
