Attempted Break And Enter In Dartmouth Leads To Brief Foot Chase By Onlookers

A break and enter vicitim got a bit of a helping hand from two pedestrians yesterday morning after a break and enter at a residence.

From Halifax Police:

“Units responded to a break and enter on  Starr Lane in Dartmouth at 7:40am today. A male attempted to break into the home by smashing a patio door of the home with a large rock. The homeowner heard the noise and confronted the suspect who ran away. The homeowner gave chase and was assisted by two pedestrians  who took over the chase when the homeowner returned to his residence to call police.  The suspect was chased into an apartment on Victoria Road by one of the pedestrians where he was subsequently arrested by attending officers. The 38 year old male was charged with break and enter with intent, failing to appear in court on an unrelated matter and was also arrested on several outstanding warrants.
The accused was held for court.”
