Attempted murder charges after Bedford school stabbing

Halifax Regional Police have charged a youth in relation to the stabbing incident that occurred yesterday at Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., police responded to a weapons complaint at Charles P. Allen High School. A youth, who was a student at the school, stabbed two employees inside the school and then fled the building. Officers responded to the scene and took the youth into custody in the area at approximately 9:31 a.m.

The two employees are in the hospital receiving treatment and are in a serious but stable condition. The youth was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

The 15-year-old youth is facing the following charges:

  • Attempted murder (2x)
  • Aggravated assault (2x)
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (2x)
  • Carrying a concealed weapon (2x)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of a weapon knowing it is unauthorized
  • Mischief
