Halifax District RCMP and the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an attempted murder that occurred late Sunday evening.

On Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 11:44 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault that occurred on Prospect Road in Bayside.

Upon arrival police found a 51-year-old male who was stabbed several times. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition. RCMP have arrested 21-year-old William Beckman and have charged him with Assault with a Weapon and Attempted Murder.

The parties are known to one another and the investigation is continuing.
