Attempted murder, public nudity and other charges after car crash

Pictou District County RCMP has charged a 30-year-old man from Pictou with attempted murder and other offences following a motor vehicle collision in Pictou.

On May 29 at approximately 2:50 p.m., police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in which a car struck a home on Elm Dr. in Pictou.

Police determined that the driver had been trying to injure a person standing on the front porch of the home. The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male passenger of the car remained on scene and was treated by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police searched the area for the driver with assistance from the RCMP Police Dog Services. Reports came in that the driver was running naked in the woods. Another call came in that the driver had broken into a home on Wallis Dr. and stolen a blanket. Shortly after, the driver was arrested without incident on Wallis St. and taken to hospital.

Patrick Jordan Anthony McClellan remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on June 3. He is charged with the following:

·         Break and Enter

·         Theft

·         Uttering Threats x 2

·         Public Nudity x 2

·         Indecent Act
